Yup our kitchen! The hub of our family life. This is where we laugh, cry and share our life. My family spend more time in the kitchen than we do in any other part of our home. We have a very large older home and have more space than we need most of the time. Even at holidays or family gatherings it seems everyone is hovered around in the kitchen. It is the breath of our lifestyle.
As a family we sport the same hobby of cooking and eating. As a result we have spent quite a lot of time and investments in a variety of kitchenware, bake ware and gadgets. We also like to buy vintage kitchen collectibles as the vintage look fits so well into our 150 plus year old home. Plus so many of the older cookware is so much better than some of the latest and greatest stuff. We also like to indulge in buying up old glassware such as Jadite, Bakelite, antique Pyrex and others.
We do not just put things around our kitchen to look at, everything is used. Like I said we cook and eat. So I will also be sharing some of the recipes that we enjoy and what kitchenware we used to accomplish the task. I am not a complex cook so many of the recipes I will be sharing are quite old and some I will be trying out new and giving my review on them.
This blog is going up at the most perfect time. Just before the holiday season. The time when we bake and cook the most. During the warmer weather we are spending most of our time around the grill and eating out on the deck. Those recipes are much simpler and basic. We grill a lot of vegetables chicken and fish during the summer season. But we will get into that when the time comes.
Our Vintage Kitchenware Our vintage kitchenware is something I enjoy collecting. Vintage kitchen collectibles is part hobby and part design choice. Most of my vintage kitchenware are pieces that have been in our family for a very long time. Add to the fact that most of my antique kitchenware is still usable today.
